Thoughts on Moving

I hate moving. There’s no easy way to do it. I have moved quite a few times since my first move to college six years ago but the move this past weekend was definitely the biggest so far; I just accrued so much stuff  this past year (e.g. big furniture items that I previously couldn’t afford as a college student). I really only have furniture for my bedroom and an office but my gosh, it felt like…

Parsons Desk in the house!

DSCN9420

For at least the past three years, I’ve wanted a parsons desk. I was in college when I first encountered them on some of the home decor blogs I was just getting in to, so naturally I couldn’t afford it then (and didn’t need it – I lived on campus where they provided a desk for each student). Anyway, this has been a long time coming. I considered buying a cheaper, knockoff version from Home…

I Survived!

It’s official! I survived my first year as a registered nurse! I am no longer a new grad RN! What an accomplishment that is for me and my 48 classmates! This year has certainly had it’s ups and downs but all in all, it was a great first year. Sure, I made mistakes (who doesn’t in their first few years?) but I learned from each and every one of them.

Interim Dresser

DSCN9391

As I mentioned in the last post, I’m on the hunt for a bedroom dresser, chest or armoire. I’ve actually been on this hunt for many months now but I just haven’t found anything that I love for my space and if there’s anything I learned from my mom (and all the decor bloggers), it’s that you don’t buy for function alone and you definitely don’t settle. There have been many times over the past few…

On the Hunt

So here’s the thing, I’m looking for a bedroom dresser. I actually have been actively looking for one for about six months now…to no avail. Last week Home Goods graciously provided me with an interim dresser (more on that in another post) but it’s not the one that will stay in my bedroom. Up until now, I haven’t actually known what I wanted..I’ve changed my mind about ten times, or more. Just ask…

Three Day Work Week

“But you only work three days a week, that’s a really nice schedule!”

You have no idea how often I hear this…and I’ve only been a nurse for one year. This is actually one of the most offensive things you can say to a nurse, or really anyone who works 12 hour shifts. For starters, it’s never actually 12 hours. You go in 30 minutes early, you’re not guaranteed your 30 minute lunch break, and you…

Nightstand Styling

DSCN9362

Back in the fall, after settling some post graduation debt, I started looking for nightstands. My mother, who is as much in to interior design as I am, was helping me look for them. We happened upon the most perfect nightstands (for me, anyway) during a Christmas shopping expedition in late November when I was home for Thanksgiving.

Anna Karenina was amazing. Keira Knightley was amazing. One day I wish to be as good as her.

I cannot wait until it finally comes to NC and I can watch it.

I'm a 21 year old student nurse, crazy cat lady, interior design junkie, and follower of Christ. I have a passion for interior design so I've created this blog as a collection of what I find beautiful/inspiring. The pictures I post are mostly found online (see 'sources') or are reblogged. They are not mine unless otherwise noted.
